Be peaceful. Even if you are
insulted, bear it. Do not allow
your mind to be agitated.
This is the non-violent method
on the spiritual path.
There is no greater protection than
freedom of the soul, freedom of consciousness. That is your Absolute, your
wisdom and joy. Within our own heart of hearts we know that is what we truly
are. Pray to the Lord to help you, to give you courage and strength. Once you
find your joy and consciousness and wisdom, you will not lack anything. You
will be perfect. Do daily practices. Have some discipline in life. Follow a
routine, even though mechanical. It is better to be consistent than not do
anything. Keep your body lighter if you can, because a heavy body affects the
mind. See that food is not the goal of your life. Eat to live; don’t live to
eat. Keep your body and mind as a vehicle for doing sadhana, spiritual
practices, and to be an instrument of God. Keep your mind free from agitations
if you can.
Be peaceful. Even if you are insulted,
bear it. Do not allow your mind to be agitated. This is the non-violent method
on the spiritual path. Let go and be free. Use your time and energy only to the
extent where it is needed, otherwise save it for higher growth. Do not spend
much time in gossip or just sitting and talking. Save your time and energy for
going upward, for prayer and meditation. Keep reminding yourself—this is the
most important point—to focus on your God, on your goal, however you have named
it. Remind yourself that you are a spiritual seeker, a practitioner, a
disciple. This will give you some sense of responsibility. It is a great joy to
belong to God.
