N MEDITATION AND SAMADHI1 YOU CALM YOUR MIND in such a way that you get back
to the Source of all these vibrations. Then you will know everything. Get to
the Source and by that time the problem has straightened out. You will see
that there was no problem; it was a wave, a vibration only. Whatever
characteristic it has is immaterial when you touch the Source. But if you
are trying to solve problems by your phenomenal laws of cause and effect, it
is an unending process. Therefore we never solve problems unless either we
surrender to the Lord or we let go in such a way that the mind subsides and
gets back to the Substance.
The mind doesn’t die; ego doesn’t die. Those vibrations only straighten out
and calm down. They lose what we call their personality, the form. Once you
lose that personality you are again that Substance. Otherwise, in between,
this astral form goes on reincarnating. “I” controls those vibrations, gets
reincarnated and carries the karmas with it. Often you have read in Oriental
books, “We want release from birth and death.” You may wonder, “What is
wrong with being reborn?” Probably very few ask this question. What is meant
by release from birth or death or rebirth? The real inner meaning is that
somewhere in our corridor of consciousness we know that if we are free from
birth and death, we will have no karmas or vibrations left; we will be in
that perfect, quiet silence of Consciousness, which is blissful. Maybe from
eons back in your consciousness you are remembering that taste of bliss of
the Substance, the bliss of being Conscious. That is what you are
recollecting, and you are saying, “I don’t want more birth and death,”
meaning: ruffling, motion, cause and effect. This is exactly the point, but
still we carry on for millions of births.

samadhi: absorption into God Consciousness
|
As soon as you are awakened, your karmas leave you; right away they vanish.
Release, meaning: no waves, no motion, calm and quiet; therefore it is
bliss, Conscious, Substance. I wish I could show you through apparatus how
it actually works so that it would be realistic for you. Assume a hologram
as an entity. Now you know it is a hologram; it doesn’t exist although the
lady in the hologram winks at you. And if you go on her other side, she
winks at you on that side too. Because you know it is a hologram, therefore
you cannot imagine it as a living entity, but if you were a two-dimensional
being, to you the three-dimensional hologram would be a reality. In the same
way, if you knew the Substance, the Pure Consciousness, this dimension would
not look real to you at all. The living entity that you are now calling real
will be a holographic entity for you. It is a projected vibration, our
materialization, nothing else. Take away the thought or the projection of
vibrations from each person—they will fall flat. If you were to merge into
Pure Consciousness, this entity that is a physical body will disintegrate or
vanish. Take the vibrations out of the human or any form and it will vanish.
This is exactly what happens if you travel at the speed of light. You vanish
because your vibrations get straightened out.
All these fantastic, mysterious phenomena, in one
word you can call illusion. It is maya, shakti. It is the will of the
Lord. Why are you and I existing as we are? It is just the will of the Lord.
The
whole crux of spirituality is that this realistic phenomenon, perfectly born
through cause and effect, is also an illusion. At the same time it is
working as perfect law so that you could easily predict the outcome. If you
knew this science, you could easily predict what is going to happen tomorrow
to anyone, even though it is illusory, because the vibrations work within
the basic laws of science. That cause and effect sequence is perfect.
Vibrations will work accordingly.
