IF THERE WERE NO PHYSICAL FORMS, NO VIBRATIONS, NO MOVEMENT,
THERE WOULD ONLY BE A QUIET, CALM, UNRUFFLED, WAVELESS OCEAN, WHICH IS
THE
SUBSTANCE. NOW IN THAT CALM, YOU WILL.

AS LONG AS THERE IS EGO, YOU WILL HAVE KARMA, the cause and effect sequence recorded in the akashic record of your mind. If there were no physical forms, no vibrations, no movement, there would only be a quiet, calm, unruffled, waveless ocean, which is the Substance. Now in that calm, you will. That act of willing produces a motion that creates a wave that is so powerful, it bifurcates into many waves, which are actually thoughts. From those thought-waves, the cause and effect sequence continues. In this physical and vibratory phenomenon, the sequence carries on perfectly. Many thinkers find it enigmatic that this illusion, this maya, this holographic world, which is so fleeting and changeful, is perfectly based upon laws. And as long as we are thinking, we will not get the answer. The answer is where you perceive this directly.
Let’s start from the origin: this ocean without any movement is the Spirit or Substance or Consciousness that we do not see. But that totality is also “I.” That is the whole universe, unending. But when that Formless “I” wills something, it creates a movement or force called shakti, which is the feminine dynamism of creation. Therefore the will is called the feminine consort, Prakriti, of the masculine Purusha, the Substance. So the Divine Father with the help of Divine Mother creates further, as on the human plane we procreate children. One wave gives rise to two waves; two give rise to four; then to millions and billions of waves. This is how the will creates and how we have been created from God.

Another example is of particles. Let’s say you are applying a certain force of “x” and creating a certain consequence. The next moment when you apply the same force “x,” the result will not be the same as before. At each moment, whatever that measurement of the moment may be, the results will vary. This is Perfection. It is a very subtle point: the law of cause and effect is bound by time and space. At each particularity of space and time the same perfect results are created from the cause and effect that is based upon vibrations. This perfection of moments retains all the karmic records, and at a required moment it will produce certain results.
Now the question is: if you want to be unchanging, immortal Being and not affected by the law of karma, can you do it? Yes. If you could transcend this vibratory, astral body, you could be nonchanging Substance, free of karmas. How can you transcend your mind or vibrations? There are various ways but primarily two: either surrender everything to the Substance—let’s say, God—and He frees you from the effects of karmas; or reflect upon your vibrations: “These are transitory, limited, fleeting, illusion, not abiding, not immortal, not blissful or satisfying, so why to hug them?” Let it go, meaning let it go! Not holding back. Not, “What about my such and such thing?” You have to let it go entirely. If you do that, your vibrations get dissolved or “straightened out.” In normal human language we call it relaxation, but this is more than just lying down.

Teaching from the basis of eternal Truth, the message of Swami Amar Jyoti's Satsangs (Sanskrit: communion with Truth) is one of deep spiritual unity.  His way is not to espouse a particular creed but to impart a spiritual way of life.   He spent four decades (from 1961-2001) awakening and uplifting countless souls around the world to God-consciousness and disseminating the timeless Truth underlying all traditions and faiths.  Prabhushri Swamiji authored several books; over seven hundred of His oral discourses, illuminating the classical path for modern times, are available on CD and audiocassette.
