N THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR MIND KEEP THE THOUGHT: “Light is there, Light is in
me.” Each time you remember the Light you get some energy. Remembrance gives
a very great shakti, in the same way that we repeat a mantra to keep the
memory sharp. Gradually as we keep remembering the Light, it reveals. When
the Light shines, you will find that it is nothing new. It was always
shining. You didn’t see it simply. When it naturally awakens in you, you
will see how true it is. That Light is in you, me, everyone. It could be
that this is the only difference between you and me: one has forgotten and
one has not. Otherwise we are the same Light. That is the whole basis of the
Guru and disciple relationship. Somebody has to show you, to remind you.
That is the Guru’s only job: to remind you. |
And when you are Light-full you will know what to do and how to regulate
your life. “Now, what will I do after I get Enlightened?” Don’t project what
you will do while you are still in ignorance. You are drawing a map in
darkness and don’t even know what you are sketching. You are in darkness and
on top of that you are designing the Enlightened life! Once you are
Enlightened, you will know perfectly what to do. When you know you
don’t plan. When you are ignorant you plan because you don’t know. Get there
first and see what it is. Maybe in the embrace of your Beloved you will
forget all planning. Edited from a Satsang entitled Remembrance of the Light (P-68) given on January 30, 2000 at the From Darkness to Light Retreat in Tucson, Arizona. This and the entire collection of Audio Satsangs of Swami Amar Jyoti are available on CD and Audiocassette. Please see the Audio Satsang Catalog at truthconsciousness.org |
Then Jesus said unto them, yet a
little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. —JOHN 12 |
