F YOU WANT GOD NEAR YOU, it is really very easy. God’s Presence is beyond any calculations. There is a kind of cosmic energy field of which you and I are a part, and within this energy field, we are each a field of energy. According to the Bhagavad Gita, these are called chetra and chetragya in Sanskrit, the “field” and the “doer in the field” or actor. You and I are actors in our own energy fields, which are a part of the cosmic energy fields. Therefore, yield. This is the meaning of surrender: that we, the limited energy fields within the cosmic energy fields, must yield. In this way the energy flows smoothly; the wisdom flows smoothly; the Light flows smoothly.
      No person on earth has any incapacity that could block this Presence of God. We are all potentially Divine. We are all potentially Light. Just do it. This alone will make you a very high yogi. It will put you on the higher stage of evolution where this earth with its gross values will lose its meaning. Then you will think and act and feel in terms of higher consciousness, Cosmic Consciousness. The mundane, material world of man will be transformed to Cosmic Being, or at least astral being, in such a way that your manifestation will be quite different than it is presently.  

      See that your lethargy, your clinging to resistance, negativities and blocks leave you. You think they are clinging—”I am trying but they are not giving me up”—but actually you are clinging to them. Mystics know the Reality. Human beings know—what? Start from your earliest memories in this birth up until now. Or look at this week: see where you started, with what feelings, thoughts, aspirations and purposes; how many fantasies you had that were fulfilled. Where have you arrived? You will see you are only decorating the cart. The cart remains at the same place except when your consciousness expands, when you get into that second step of touching the Shakti. That will raise you from the mundane, gross values. And this capacity we all have.
      Go on bringing this idea into the forefront. Whenever you miss it or forget it, when you remember again, bring it back. In any affair, any working, any relationships, make it number one all the time until it becomes tangible. That will be yoga—union with God. So the will is first; action is second; third is yoga, surrendering to it. And that third stage is actually very easy. At that level you receive the grace of the Lord. If your will is sincere and you are putting your efforts sincerely, then God pulls you up.
