PRAY TO THE LORD, “GOD, AT LEAST BEFORE I LEAVE THIS BODY,
PLEASE AWAKEN ME.
I DON’T WANT TO WASTE THIS HUMAN BIRTH.
CAN YOU DO THAT?

Therefore Gurus, Masters and Prophets come to remind you of the Goal of life, which the majority have forgotten. And don’t take it as evangelism or preaching, because we have experienced it. In fine moments, the best of attitudes, you will discover, “That’s my joyful stature; that’s my success.” In that moment you look beautiful. You realize, “Oh, I have forgotten.” It may be only a fleeting moment that you all of a sudden remember: “Yes, that is the Goal—to Know, to be Conscious, to be Awakened.” And that slumber, then, begins to leave you. This slumber is different than in the nighttime. You do not see while awake that you are slumbering, but at that moment when you awaken, you will see, “Yes, it was unconsciousness.” You do not see this now because your eyes work, your nose works, your ears work, your thoughts work, your hands work, and so on. But when that really begins to happen, you will know that you were unconscious, you were slumbering, a kind of self-hypnosis. Through teaching you do not see this but when it really awakens in you, you’ll see that we have been sleeping souls in the name of waking people.

To make you Enlightened, to remind you of the Goal, is the primary work of Gurus and Masters and Prophets. Other things like the protection of Dharma or righteousness of which I have spoken, are to bring harmony and balance among unconscious souls. Following Dharma gives you aspiration for awakening.

AND WHEN YOU GET AWAKENED, you are joyful. You do not simply awaken and do nothing. It is not a dead condition. On the contrary, it is very living. That unconscious, hazy, cloudy, dreamlike state of humanity drops off like a veil. Your tiresomeness leaves you. Sleep leaves you. Any worries or anxieties drop off. Problems do not look like problems. All of a sudden, you feel joyful. You have a serene, detached outlook toward the happenings of phenomena. You begin to see how God made you in His own image. You find God awakening within you, your Spirit coming to the forefront. That is salvation, Moksha. And it is possible; it is very possible. The Sages have said to have faith and meditate until you awaken: Uttishtha Jagrata Prapya Varan Nibhodata—“Arise, awake and stop not till the Goal is reached.”
