WORSHIP, BY CHANTING, BY MEDITATING, THE DIVINE ASPECT OF THE
MOTHER—GOD, AS YOU
MAY SAY—BEGINS TO PURIFY YOU. IN THIS WAY, YOU
WILL SEE YOUR DIVINE ENERGY CROP
UP SOONER, MORE EASILY, RATHER THAN
JUST BY THINKING, RATIONALIZING AND
ANALYZING, “WHO IS GOD?
WHO IS GODDESS?”
She is that nature; She is that
manifestation; She is that glow of the flame; She is the flower’s perfume
wafting in the air. When you begin to see this you will discover that your
nature, your mind, your vitality, your whole body—veins, blood, speech,
thoughts, your everything—is a manifestation from you, and this
manifestation is Divine Mother. You will see your own energy and power
coming up. You will awaken. The greatest Vedantists such as Shankaracharya—leave
aside those dry seekers on the way who condemn dualism and Mother—have
ultimately worshipped Mother Divine, Sharada, Tara, Durga, Her many forms.
Divine Mother you can call by any name you want; among different religions
they have different names. |
By worship, by chanting, by meditating, the
divine aspect of the Mother—God, as you may say—begins to purify you. And it
is so easy! They say She is easily pleased. In this way, you will see your
divine energy crop up sooner, more easily, rather than just by thinking,
rationalizing and analyzing, “Who is God? Who is Goddess?” All the analysis
and jugglery of the brain gives you some kind of determination but never
purifies. Therefore we say to be humble so that you tumble down to seeking
in the right direction, so that you do not think you know much. Because when
you think you know much, you do not go forward. You stop there. Humility
opens the doors so you can proceed, because now you know that you do not
know much. Humility will make your head bow down to Divine Mother to
worship, and then that purifies further. Otherwise ego gets stuck, stubborn,
especially an ingrained nature. Humility is a virtue to get you to open up
to receive. Intellect does not worship, the heart does. Those who condemn
devotion will never achieve nondualism. They will remain still below
dualism, in multiplicity. |
