      There is yet another way, which we call the scientific or raja yoga way of straightening out your karmas. In this way you accelerate your consciousness to the extent that millions of years are reduced to a moment, and thereby straighten out your karmas. In raja yoga, your prana, “life-force,” or shakti brings you closer and closer to the Lord or Source through longing in such a way that that shakti overrides every other consideration. Then no laws are applicable. The raja yogi goes through the apparatus of the mind and nervous system, the flow of prana and shakti, and reduces all the universal space into one particle.

S O THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO BE FREE FROM KARMA: one is devotion, one is knowledge, the third is science. In between is karma yoga, the path of selfless action, because we have to do something in the meanwhile. You cannot stop everything and just sleep. Whichever path you follow, karma yoga is involved. I consider karma yoga a purifying factor. Whichever path you are following, whether science or devotion or self-inquiry, that purification of heart will help you.
 

      All your miseries and pains are also illusions, but we take misery and pain as very realistic. Here lies the problem. Ask yourself: What is the reason for my suffering? Which law have you violated? “I don’t think I have.” What you mean actually is that you do not know, which means that you have broken the spiritual law and you are ignorant, both. The result is misery, pain or whatever negativities are inside. It is all inside, right? Whatever is inside will come out. It could not be otherwise. It is perfect law. Either surrender unto the Lord and He will release you, or release yourself by inner renunciation, letting go and being straightened out, or be a raja yogi and know the science and mystery of illusion. That is the way whereby your own shakti, your own Consciousness, will come back to you. This is how the prodigal son finds his sweet home or the wandering soul returns home. We use many metaphors. Ego merges into the Spirit; the phenomenon merges back into the Substance; the wave resides back into the ocean. Either come face to face with the Lord or reside in Pure Consciousness or come back to your Source through samadhi and bliss. It is all the same thing, though terminology differs. If you want to perpetuate your dreams and your karmas, then you can project incessantly for millions and billions of years. But you could straighten out your karmas and be free in a moment.
